Movie Review: The Fighting Preacher 2019
The Fighting Preacher is a heartwarming and inspiring movie that will leave you feeling uplifted and hopeful. Based on a true story, the film follows the journey of Willard Bean, a former professional boxer turned preacher who is assigned to a small town in rural Utah in the 1920s.
One of the strongest aspects of The Fighting Preacher is its stellar cast. David McConnell delivers an exceptional performance as Willard Bean, perfectly capturing his determination and sincerity. Cassidy Hubbarth also shines as Rebecca Bean, Willard’s supportive wife who stands by him through thick and thin.
The direction by T.C. Christensen is superb, with every scene crafted to perfection. The cinematography beautifully captures the stunning scenery of rural Utah, immersing viewers into the setting. The score also serves as an excellent complement to the story, seamlessly blending with each scene without overpowering it.
However, despite these positives aspects of The Fighting Preacher there are some shortcomings to note. At times, the plot feels somewhat predictable with some cheesy dialogues which cheapened some emotional moments within the movie.
Overall though, The Fighting Preacher may be one of those movies that you feel compelled to watch again just to capture all those feel-good emotions it has evoked on your first time watching it . With its well-rounded characters ,authentic production design, and its powerful message about faith and resilience , this movie will certainly touch your heartstrings .
