Movie Review: Relish 2018
Relish is a touching and thought-provoking film that explores the complexities of family relationships, loss, and finding oneself. The plot revolves around Luna, a young woman who is forced to come back home to care for her estranged father who has been diagnosed with cancer. As she navigates her way through the challenges of caregiving, she also confronts her own emotional demons and learns to cherish the little moments in life.
One of the standout elements in Relish is the exceptional acting from its cast. Hana Hayes brings an authenticity and vulnerability to her portrayal of Luna that makes it impossible not to empathize with her character’s struggles. James Morrison delivers an equally impressive performance as Luna’s father, capturing both his frailty and inner strength.
The direction by Justin Ward displays an incredible attention to detail that adds depth and nuance to every scene. The use of close-up shots brilliantly captures the emotions on each character’s faces, making us feel like we’re right there in the moment with them.
The music score by Jim Dooley perfectly complements each scene’s mood without overtaking any significant moment so that audiences can focus on what is happening emotionally.
As for production design & cinematography department, they are lightning camera work during key conversations amps up tension while smooth pans give viewers a sense of peace during reflective moments between characters.
Relish has its share of heart-wrenching moments but also finds humor & hope at various points throughout the film. While some might find it too slow-paced or overly sentimental at times, it’s hard not to be moved by this tender tribute about family love & growth in difficult times.
In conclusion, Relish is a gem worth watching! With its beautiful performances and striking visual storytelling techniques accompanies soothing music score; this movie will leave you feeling connected with yourself as well as your loved ones. Highly recommended!
