Movie Review: In a New York Minute 2019

As a movie critic, I had the opportunity to watch “In a New York Minute”, and let me just say, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. The film tells the story of Amy, played by Ashley Greene, who is a struggling fashion designer trying to make it in the big city. She crosses paths with three strangers, including Eddie, played by Jorge Lendeborg Jr., who helps her see life from a different perspective.

The acting in this movie was top-notch. Ashley Greene portrayed Amy’s vulnerability and determination flawlessly while Jorge Lendeborg Jr.’s portrayal of Eddie was charming and endearing. The chemistry between the two actors was palpable and made their scenes together even more enjoyable.

Kathleen Man’s direction was spot on as she captured each character’s unique personality traits brilliantly. The score complemented every scene well and added depth to emotional moments throughout the film.

Cinematography-wise, “In a New York Minute” did not disappoint at all as it showcased breathtaking visuals that captured New York City’s beauty impeccably. The production design team behind this movie brought everything to life with great attention to detail that made every scene feel authentic.

However, there were moments where special effects felt underwhelming and editing felt choppy at times -this is one of my criticisms about the film-. Nevertheless; they didn’t detract too much from the overall viewing experience.

The dialogues crafted for characters were cleverly written which kept you hooked till the very end -that’s another positive aspect-. This romantic comedy-drama touched on themes such as self-discovery that resonates with audiences universally -and let me tell you: it certainly resonated with me-.

Overall In A New York Minute has its ups-and-downs but somehow manages to come through with an entertaining storyline filled with great performances from its cast so if you’re looking for an intriguing rom-com flick; then look no further!
