Movie Review: Home with a View of the Monster 2019
“Home with a View of the Monster” is an indie thriller that follows the story of a young couple who moves into their dream home in the hills only to start experiencing strange occurrences. Directed by Alex Greenlee, this film is one that will leave you at the edge of your seat throughout its entirety.
The plot revolves around David and Hannah, played by Kris Carr and Sarah Luther respectively, as they try to piece together the mystery surrounding their new home’s history. Along with their next-door neighbor, played by Tim Sweeten, they begin to uncover dark secrets and unravel supernatural occurrences.
One thing that stood out about this movie was its excellent use of sound effects and visuals that added depth and dimension to this slow-burning horror flick. The suspenseful music combined with dimly lit scenes created an intense atmosphere that made for an overall unnerving experience.
Although some may describe this film as predictable or generic due to its reliance on common horror tropes such as demonic possession; it still manages to set itself apart. The acting performances were solid all-around; however, there might have been room for more character development in some parts.
All in all,” Home With A View Of The Monster ” is an intriguing thriller worth checking out if you’re looking for something spooky but not overly gory and extreme like most modern-day horrors. It offers decent chills sprinkled throughout without relying on cheap jump scares or unnecessary gore — making it perfect for those who prefer classic slow-burn horror films over fast-paced slashers.”
